I consider it my life’s work to help others during difficult times in their lives, as I personally know the importance of having someone you can trust during life’s challenges.
I was a born talker! Long before I began college, I was known by those around me as the secret keeper. I received both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Development and Family Studies and a Master of Education in Counseling with a focus on Community, from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. After college, I have worked with those affected by trauma, including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I have worked with child victims in foster care, those affected by domestic violence, those currently experiencing homelessness and those who have been diagnosed with one or more mental health disorders.
What I have learned is that we are who our experiences shape us to be. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life. Regardless of what has happened, we can move forward—we can take the path less traveled and achieve positive results. We can be exactly who we want to be—if we're willing to put in the work.
My hope is that our time together will bring out your truth. Life can get heavy. Love can become difficult. My intent is to create a healing space free of judgment. Your charge is to bring your authentic self. When these things combine, growth happens. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you. Take the first step. Make an appointment today.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.
