About
As someone who grew up in the field of mental health, I have come to appreciate the therapeutic value of allowing others to express themselves without reservation as well as affording them the respect and dignity they duly deserve.
My name is Elliott Brown, and I am a licensed professional counselor with over 25 years of experience in the field. When explaining the process of therapy to clients, I often use the “puzzle analogy”: a) you dump the pieces out on the table, b) I help you look for the edges and other patterns, c) you develop a clearer picture about how the rest of the puzzle needs to be solved, and d) you can frame your puzzle for easier reference in the future.
My approach aims to provide you with a sense of relief in expressing often unpleasant thoughts and feelings, while also helping you recognize the themes embedded within these expressions. In doing so, you may develop a greater awareness of the world around you and, as a consequence, become more resilient in the face of adversity.
Please let me know how I can be of help to you. Life's problems aren't something we have to tackle alone. Therapy doesn't have to look a certain way; sessions can be a time to unwind and talk about whatever you see fit. Above all, I hope that you will leave therapy a more insightful and happier person.

I am laid-back, love making people smile, and prefer to meet people where they are, rather than where a provider thinks they should be. This is core to my beliefs, not only as a practitioner, but as a person. Everyone should be treated with basic human dignity.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 3 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress-related concerns, and life transitions. I work with clients from all walks of life and strive to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where you feel heard and respected as a whole person—not just a diagnosis.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from the University of Michigan. My background includes psychiatric assessment, medication management, and evidence-based treatment planning. I take a patient-centered approach, emphasizing collaboration, education, and thoughtful care tailored to your unique goals.
If you’ve ever felt dismissed or unsure about seeking care, I want you to know you’re not alone. I am committed to providing compassionate, inclusive support and helping you gain clarity and confidence in managing your mental health. I invite you to schedule a session and take the next step forward.

I believe that healing starts with being truly seen, so I work to build a space where you can explore who you are without pressure or judgment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 4 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's challenges. My clinical focus areas include addiction treatment, OCD, anxiety, and depression, conditions that can feel isolating, but which I've seen clients move through with the right support and consistency. I create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel seen and supported, not judged. My approach is tailored to each person, focusing on strengths, coping skills, and lasting change- not just symptom relief, but a deeper shift in how clients relate to themselves.
I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to help clients build coping skills and lasting change. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen. As a twin, I bring unique insight to clients navigating twin-related identity and relationship dynamics.
It takes courage to begin therapy, and I believe everyone deserves a space to feel heard, understood, and empowered. In our work together, you can expect guidance, authenticity, and a safe space to grow at your own pace.

Family therapy can also be an invaluable tool in equipping relatives to support themselves and other family members while someone they know is suffering the negative consequences of substance use and addiction.
The duration of addiction counseling nearly always varies, depending on the client’s specific needs and treatment goals. Some clients may benefit from short-term intervention, in cases where the symptoms and effects of substance use are already in remission, while others may require more extensive support over an extended period. For more information about whether Thriveworks is the best choice for your specific situation, give our office nearest you a call or schedule online to talk with our helpful support staff.
At Thriveworks, addiction counseling usually takes the form of individual therapy sessions, where clients work with a trained counselor to treat and better understand addiction and its underlying issues. Treatment may vary widely, but can incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, group therapy, and other evidence-based approaches, as needed.
Thriveworks offers a range of services, in addition to addiction counseling, each designed to meet specific needs. Our goal is to provide the right kind of support for every challenge you may face.
