About
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have devoted my career to working with individuals who struggle with mental health and substance use disorders and I understand the need to create a warm, nonjudgmental space to discuss issues and also the importance of developing a personalized treatment plan.
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 13 years of experience treating adults with mental health and substance use disorders in inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings. I earned my ASN from Indiana University and completed my graduate studies there. I understand the importance of providing a safe and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. I believe in empowering you to take an active role in your treatment and tailoring care to each unique personality. I am committed to building rapport based on trust, open communication, empathy, and clinical expertise.
As a registered nurse and nurse practitioner, I've learned listening and compassion are as important as treatment. My focus is on mood disorders, grief, insomnia, trauma, substance use, and chronic mental illness, using assessments and medication management. I am both a provider and an advocate committed to making sure you are seen, respected, and empowered.
I'll provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where we can form a therapeutic alliance and collaborate on a plan unique to your needs. My dedication is rooted in a personal journey: family and friends who have struggled with mental health and substance use. I believe we can create achievable, sustainable goals built on empathy, compassion, and listening.

OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks Munster therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in Munster, IN is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment.
