What is Co-Parenting?

Divorce is a traumatic event that requires time, effort, and support from both parents in order to heal. Co-parenting is when parents work together for the benefit of their children. Co-parenting can make the transition more smoothly for the children.

Co-parenting can make the traumatic experience less traumatic by helping both parents work together cooperatively to parent their children in a business-like fashion. Both parents are essentially making a commitment to their parental obligations and responsibilities.

How Does Co-Parenting Work?

At Thriveworks-Reading/Wyomissing a co-parenting counselor sits down with both partners and works together to make a plan to parent by leaving out the emotions. A co-parenting coach can help parents learn to communicative more effectively and not get caught up in their emotions. This helps to ensure that their children are getting what they need.
