About
As a counselor with over 20 years of experience and as a person who has struggled with anxiety and depression, I am passionate about helping others reach their goals as they work toward increased mental and emotional well-being.
I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) with 28 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, college students, adults, and couples. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, and relationship challenges. I strive to create a supportive, affirming environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I earned my master’s degree in agency and community counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. My clinical approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy, helping clients understand how thoughts and behaviors influence emotions while building insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, validated, and genuinely understood. I will walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, develop effective coping skills, and work toward your personal goals. Seeking counseling is a powerful step forward, and I welcome the opportunity to support you on that path.

It is my honor to join with you in your counseling journey and help hold hope as you work to go and grow through life.
The counseling journey can be hard work. It takes courage to reach out for help — thank you for taking that important first step! I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor who has helped hold hope for clients in counseling for over 20 years. I have a master's and doctorate in counseling, which adds to the skills and support I offer. Are there issues with stress, anxiety, grief, loss, sadness, or a life transition? Are you a new or new-again parent navigating the "challenging 3's" with your child? These are just some of the reasons clients, from children to adults, come to counseling with me in English and Spanish.
So how can I help? As a clinical mental health counselor, I will offer you a safe space and listen without judgment. I believe that you and your story matter. I counsel from a holistic, mind-body-heart perspective that is realistic and grounded. I will help you explore strategies and coping skills that are useful and practical for you in your life.
My clients come to counseling to heal, grow, gain new ideas, skills, and understanding, and know they are not alone. With each client I have the honor of holding hope for in the counseling space, I am reminded of how resilient and amazing the human spirit is. I would be honored to join you in counseling and help hold hope.

Thriveworks Couples therapy helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy include:
Couples therapy works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Couples therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend couples therapy for 12 weeks. However, couples therapy may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
Includes individual, couples, child/ teen, & family therapy
Includes reducing symptoms with medication & management
