I’ve worked with people in some of their most overwhelming and vulnerable moments, so I know how exhausting it can feel to keep functioning on the outside while quietly struggling internally.
I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in both outpatient psychiatry and crisis stabilization settings. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, stress, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the clients I work with are used to pushing through their struggles quietly while trying to keep up with work, school, relationships, or family responsibilities, and are looking for practical support, clarity, and lasting emotional stability.
My approach is collaborative, practical, and judgment-free. I combine medication management with supportive conversations, psychoeducation, and realistic goal-setting to help clients understand their symptoms, improve daily functioning, and feel emotionally balanced. Clients can expect honesty, empathy, and treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.
You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out for support. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again, I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest, understood, and supported throughout the process.

To paraphrase an old but true saying, “the only thing constant in life is change.” One thing that was left out is that change can often times be scary and hard. Just when we think things are going good, life has a way of throwing us a curve ball just to make things “interesting.” Whether you are experiencing difficulty with coping with changes related to your emotions, your relationships, your job, your health, or just life in general, counseling can help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with approximately 12 years of experience with working with children, adults, families, and couples. I am proud to have an all-inclusive practice that serves clients and families of varying ethnicities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, and other cultural backgrounds. I take pride in providing a comfortable and welcoming (yet always professional) environment where clients are encouraged to be open and honest. My primary goal is to help my clients to uncover their innate ability to adapt and thrive despite any challenges they may face. Common issues that I help with include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, relationship stressors, behavior issues, trauma and abuse, stress management, relational codependency, suicidal thoughts, and grief. I utilize a holistic/systems approach to counseling in order to understand the impact that a client’s mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being may have on the issues that they are facing. While I believe quality training is important, I also believe that it is just as important to find a counselor that is a good “fit.” I would the love the opportunity to see if I am a good fit to help assist you on your journey. With online counseling (within the state of Georgia), and 24/7 scheduling, you are just one mouse click/phone call of way, so…let’s HEAL together!
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Insomnia therapy is a tailored form of treatment that addresses chronic sleep disturbances, which can include problems with falling asleep, staying asleep, or experiencing restorative sleep. The goal of Insomnia therapy is to enhance sleep quality, establish healthy sleep routines, and, in turn, improve an individual’s overall well-being by mitigating and reducing the adverse effects of persistent sleep deprivation.
Insomnia therapy combines therapeutic approaches, with a central focus on cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) to modify sleep-disrupting thoughts and behaviors, integrating techniques like stimulus control, sleep restriction, and relaxation training. Thriveworks Kennesaw therapists will also emphasize sleep hygiene education and may include mindfulness and relaxation exercises to improve sleep quality, equipping individuals with effective strategies to enhance their sleep and overall well-being.
Common symptoms of insomnia include:
Symptoms of insomnia often look different for everyone; however, there are some warning signs that can signal the need for insomnia therapy. These include feeling anxious about bedtime, bedtimes getting later and later, energy peaking at night rather than during the day, and drastic caffeine consumption in order to stay awake.
Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is one of the most effective forms of therapy for treating insomnia, working to modify sleep-disrupting thoughts and behaviors through strategies like sleep hygiene and sleep restriction.
Insomnia therapy at Thriveworks Kennesaw is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of insomnia therapy can vary based on the individual’s needs and progress in treatment. Typically, it involves a short series of sessions over a few weeks to a couple of months, with the number and length of sessions decided in consultation with the therapist. Some experience better sleep within this time, while others choose longer therapy to address complex sleep issues or maintain good sleep habits.
Many people start to see improvements in their sleep patterns after about two to three weeks of CBT-I. However, the duration and effectiveness will differ for everyone, so don’t worry if it takes a bit longer to have a strong effect.
Insomnia can quickly turn sweet, restful dreams into a restless nightmare. If you are like the many people who experience sleep disturbances, your mind and body are not getting the restorative sleep they need each night, and these sleepless nights have real consequences for your day: irritability, drowsiness, trouble focusing, and more. Sometimes, home remedies help for a while, but many times, insomnia sufferers need more.
If you have trouble falling asleep, if you wake after sleeping a few short hours, if you wake exhausted and drained, maybe insomnia has become your normal. But sleep disturbances are not normal, and insomnia counseling has helped many people find relief.

Insomnia is a serious but common problem. Are you living with any of these symptoms? Maybe, you wake up in the middle of the night. Maybe your mind and body have a hard time falling asleep. You are tired, but you lie in bed, awake for hours. Then, the sandman finally comes an hour or two before you have to start your day. Maybe, it seems like you sleep all night. However, instead of waking rested, you wake exhausted.
The causes of insomnia may be physical and/or emotional.
