About
I care deeply about people and animals across the globe.
I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Missouri. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing individual, family, and group therapy, as well as psychological assessments for people with depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, PTSD, and more. In college counseling centers, I have supported clients seeking therapy for personal growth and self-exploration. I use a client-centered approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma processing, and solution-focused techniques to tailor treatment to each person's needs.
I was educated in Japan and the U.S., studying in Oregon, Washington, and California. I earned an APA-accredited doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in cross-cultural and international psychology. I value cultural diversity and am published in human-animal interactions and international psychology.
Through therapy, I aim to support your personal growth and help you lead a fulfilling life. I am committed to being a steady source of support during difficult times, helping you strengthen your coping skills and cultivate a renewed sense of hope, purpose, and meaning in life.

As a bilingual therapist with over five years of experience working with teens and young adults, I create a supportive, practical space where we can understand what’s holding you back and build the tools you need to move forward—on and off the field.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a master's degree in clinical counseling and over 5 years of experience in the mental health field, including the past four years providing direct therapy. I have extensive experience working with teens and young adults, supporting them through a range of emotional and behavioral challenges while providing a supportive space for growth and healing. My approach is client-centered, practical, and goal-oriented. I integrate principles from therapy, sports psychology, and coaching to help clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and develop meaningful, lasting change.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to effectively support a diverse client population and provide culturally responsive care. Originally from Venezuela, I moved to St. Louis at the age of 16. I have also traveled to over 20 countries, shaping my cultural awareness and ability to connect with clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
At 32, I bring both clinical training and real-world perspective to my work, helping clients move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Hello, I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I work with clients struggling with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and sexual or domestic violence. Many of my clients struggle with low self-worth, guilt and shame, always putting others before their needs, and feeling unheard and undervalued.
I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, providing a collaborative, warm, nonjudgmental space. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the most powerful tool for change. Alongside this approach, I use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR.
It can be difficult to take that first step and reach out, but each step can bring you closer to reaching your goals and becoming your best self. I feel honored to be part of your healing journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 9 years of experience. I have worked with children, families, and adults navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and mental health concerns. I specialize in supporting clients through trauma, relationship difficulties, and personal growth, while helping them build coping strategies, develop social skills, and move toward healthier, more balanced lives. I create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their healing journey.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. My approach includes trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy, which helps clients challenge irrational thoughts, shift unhelpful patterns, and build skills that support long-term growth and resilience.
If you are ready to begin working through life’s challenges, I would be honored to walk alongside you. My goal is to provide meaningful support while equipping you with tools to strengthen your mental health and move forward with confidence and hope.

I am grateful you are here and my hope is that I can help you with the challenges you are having right now.
I’m Jacob Glose, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Arkansas with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual and couples therapy and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. I am trained in EMDR and offer trauma-informed care for clients looking to process difficult past experiences and move forward with more clarity and stability. My approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential.
I build that through consistency, trust, & clear communication. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying your goals, and creating a plan that fits your needs. From there, the work involves exploring patterns, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to distress or keeping you stuck.
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, but I work to create a supportive and steady space. My approach helps clients make sense of their experiences and build the insight and tools needed to face life’s challenges with more compassion, confidence, and direction.

My goal when working with clients is to create a space where they feel safe, heard and supported as we work through their story.
Hi! My name is Keana and I have worked in the mental health field since 2012. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, and I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Master of Science from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. I have devoted the past 11 years of my career to working almost exclusively with survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and PTSD, and I have experience working in community mental health, both outpatient and IOP.
I support my clients by providing them with a physically and emotionally safe space to exist and unpack their story. In early treatment sessions, I focus my attention on getting to know them as a person, followed by working to better understand the challenges they're experiencing in their day-to-day lives.
Overall, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported as you work through your story. If it sounds like my approach would be a good fit for you, schedule a session with me. I look forward to meeting you!

In Kansas City, your cost depends on whether you use insurance or pay out of pocket. With insurance, most patients pay a copay between $0 and $55 per session. If you’re self-pay, rates vary by state—typically $200 to $240 for your first therapy session and $160 to $195 for follow-ups, or $300 to $375 for an initial psychiatry session and $210 to $300 for follow-ups. Contact our Kansas City office or visit our pricing page to learn more.
Yes, Thriveworks Kansas City accepts insurance to help cover services, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and psychiatry. Couples and family therapy aren’t always covered the same way, since some plans only cover sessions considered medically necessary.
We’ll verify your insurance and estimate your out-of-pocket cost for you before your first session, but it’s still worth confirming your specific benefits with your insurer, especially if your plan requires pre-authorization (advance approval from your insurer before certain treatments are covered).
Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy. Research consistently shows the relationship between you and your therapist is one of the strongest predictors of whether treatment actually works, no matter their approach. Start by thinking about what you want help with, then browse provider profiles in Kansas City and filter by specialty, insurance, and availability to find someone who feels right for you. If your first session doesn’t click, no problem. You can switch providers anytime, no fees, no hassle.
All three support mental health in different ways. A therapist provides talk therapy to help you work through challenges; a psychologist also provides therapy, but their doctoral training lets them do psychological testing and formal evaluations; a psychiatrist is a medical provider who can prescribe medication.
Thriveworks Kansas City offers therapy and psychiatry together, so you can get the right type of care—or a combination—in one place. For more detail, see our straightforward guide to mental health care professionals.
Most patients at Thriveworks Kansas City see a provider within six days. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends. Book online or call our Kansas City office to find the soonest session with a therapist or psychiatric provider.
Yes. Psychiatric providers at Thriveworks Kansas City can prescribe and manage medication, and many patients pair that with talk therapy from a separate provider. Our team coordinates the two together.
Your first session is mostly about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask what brought you in, talk through your history and goals, and start shaping a plan for care. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with—the first session is a conversation, not a test. Want more detail? Here’s exactly what to expect, step by step.
