Ashley Reynolds, Counselor

**Available for On-Site Counseling Only**

“True life is lived when tiny changes occur.” – Leo Tolstoy

Hi, I’m Ashley Reynolds, and I am currently spending time acquiring my Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at Clayton State University (Go Lakers!). As a counselor here at Thriveworks, I’ll be receiving supervision from one of our trained therapists on site. During my Undergraduate season, I also finished out at Clayton State University and received my degree in Psychology and Human Services.

Some may ask, “Why choose this path? Why mental health?” Growing up, I spent time focusing on how different factors can affect the way each person continues through life. Some people seek a listening ear. Others may need guidance towards their path of acceptance and change. I want to be a part of the change my community seeks. I want each client I encounter to feel open to their experience while reminding them that they are the authors of their story. It is their journey of growth that I will be along for during their time.

My approaches in therapy revolve around both a Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approach. Psychodynamic approaches focus on childhood experiences and how they may affect one in adulthood. With the Cognitive Behavioral approach, we will focus on changing negative thoughts which contribute to emotional hardships one may be experiencing. Both approaches will be molded to fit the needs of each client.

Specialties Include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self-Esteem
  • Bullying
  • Life transitions
  • Relationship challenges

My name is Faith Uzebu, and I am a counselor at Thriveworks Counseling and Coaching in McDonough, Georgia. When people ask me why I chose to work in the mental health field, I often say, "I knew early on I wanted to assist people who felt overwhelmed, scared, unsure at becoming their “best self”.  I graduated with an MS Clinical Psychology/Clinical Counseling professional working towards my LPC. These skills are an asset when it comes to being able to assist Clients who present with anxiety, stress, trauma, and low self-esteem. Sometimes the path to healing comes by accepting where you are and allowing yourself to take small, yet significant steps toward your ‘best self.” I know that the "one size fits all approach", does not work for everyone and my role will be to work with you to tailor which approach will deliver you to a place of self-acceptance and spark within you, growth through a cooperative and integrative approach that will get you through your situation now and in the future. My specialties are client-centered therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe no matter who you are and what you are going through, you deserve to be heard. I am here and eagerly awaiting to listen and have the opportunity to assist you with your journey.

My passion is in the following area:

  • Depression

  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Low self-concept/self-esteem

"It's never overreacting to ask for what you want and need" - Amy Poehler

Hi! My name is Kawahjahlin Rogers and I am pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently under the supervision of a licensed clinician as I gain hours toward licensure and graduating. I attended Georgia State University and received my bachelor’s degree in psychology. When determining the next step in my academic journey, I found that Marriage and Family Therapy allowed individuals to be viewed according to the environments around them that are constantly impacting them and their responses as individuals and as a system. I take pride in meeting clients where they are in their journey and helping them along the way.

With experience in mental health settings engaging with clients ranging from preschoolers to seniors, I noticed the effect of systems throughout our lives and how everyone prevails differently. Considering this and being that all clients are unique, I utilize various systemic approaches to progress towards the goals of clients while remaining culturally competent and curious. I tend to view the client as an expert in the room because no one knows you better than you know yourself! I also like to discover strengths within a client to help emphasize the hidden capabilities we all hold. I aim to collaborate with you in creating a safe therapeutic environment, discovering your true desires, achieving the goals you create, and overcoming the problems you may experience. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, my name is Noah Ambrose. My educational background is a B.A. in Psychology & Human Services, and I am working towards a M.S. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at Clayton State University. While working at Thriveworks, I will be under supervision as I work towards graduating. My reason for entering the mental health field stems from growing up around others with mental health issues and seeing the help they needed but were not able to get. I hope to be a person that can help those people for many years to come. I am passionate about helping adolescents and young adults navigate through challenges as they develop. These challenges may seem impossible at times, but I believe we all can reach our goals and surpass those challenges.

Robert Morris, Counselor

**Available for Online and On-Site Counseling**

My name is Robert Morris and I am a Pre-licensed professional under direct supervision. My educational background includes a M.S. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Morehouse College. With more than 14 years of clinical experience in Hospice & Palliative end-of-life care, I helped many clients navigate illness, death, as well as grief and bereavement. I have also worked with at risk teens in foster care, adoptive families, and with reuniting families in home based and community settings.

Sometimes conflicts and tensions come about in relationships and even within our own selves as we try to sort out issues or challenges, which are really opportunities for growth. One of the most profound yet simple things a therapist has ever said to me is, “There is more room out here for your feelings than inside”.  My mission is to provide an “open space” for all individuals, couples, and families to thrive and grow into their maximum potential. I endeavor to provide a safe space for all individuals to become the best version of themselves; In particular, individuals who are marginalized or find themselves on the periphery of society due to labels or stigmas inflicted upon them by society or culture.

I take a systems approach to therapy and utilize various models including person centered, intergenerational, structural, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness based, solution focused, as well as narrative and collaborative therapies. I am also a Prepare & Enrich Facilitator. As a therapist, I walk alongside my clients as they narrate and re-imagine their life stories and write their own endings.
