About Elizabeth
"Finding a therapist and opening up about your fears can be scary and overwhelming. I know this not just on a professional level, but a deeply personal one, and strive to ease that discomfort."
Elizabeth (Liz) Oberheu is a Resident in Counseling, working toward her licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2019. She is passionate about helping her clients identify the roots of their concerns, and work toward making changes that allow them to live happier healthier lives. Liz has experience in working with anxiety, depression, and adjustment/stressor-related concerns.
Liz obtained her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas San Antonio. Her interest in counseling came from wanting to better understand her own struggles, and help others do the same. Liz uses a psychodynamic approach, while also utilizing other modalities such as mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
The stigma around discussing mental health struggles has greatly lessened over the past couple of years. That doesn't mean it can't still be nerve-wracking. Liz strives to provide an open, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space. If you are thinking about starting therapy for the first time or are looking to ease back in, schedule an appointment with her today.

About Stacie
Stacie Davidson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in anxiety, depression, couples issues, mood disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. Stacie has both professional and personal experience with how difficult, yet brave, it is to let go of the fear of judgment when coming into a counseling setting. Her first goal of therapy with any client is to build a trusting relationship and a safe, non-judgmental space where they can feel free to explore, understand, and challenge themselves.
Stacie completed his Master’s Degree in Education and Mental Health Counseling. Her experience providing counseling in the home, community, school, and office settings to all different demographics gives her a well-rounded ability to connect with people and meet them where they are. Once the therapeutic relationship is established, Stacie determines which techniques and interventions will best fit the needs of each client. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which entails exploring automatic and unhelpful thought patterns and restructuring them to be healthier, truer, and more helpful thoughts in living a happy and fulfilled life. This often calls for teaching mindfulness skills, which is a first step in learning to become aware and more in control of thoughts.
Stacie has confidence that everyone has the strength and ability to make positive changes in their lives. As a guide, she does not make changes for you but expects you to take responsibility for the changes that you want to make in your life through self-exploration and actively trying new and healthier ways of thinking and living.

About Mariel
Mariel Andersen, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) after earning her Master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mariel earned her first Master’s in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, where her capstone project examined social support during young adulthood transitions. At the University of Virginia, Mariel majored in Cognitive Science while researching perception, virtual reality, and relationships. Mariel has provided services in diverse contexts, where she has focused on alleviating distress associated with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and existential concerns.
Mariel draws from her strong research background to balance empirical knowledge of clinical phenomena with a non-categorical approach. This allows every client to be seen as an individual, not as a diagnosis. Mariel sees the therapeutic process as reciprocal, with the client’s perspectives determining which interventions enter into the clinical partnership.
Mariel shapes the therapy session into a judgment-free space where her clients are free to engage with their most authentic thoughts and feelings. She draws from varied theoretical influences, from Carl Rogers to Mr. Rogers. Her therapeutic style is warm, natural, and eclectic, creating a relaxed atmosphere for self-expression and growth.
