Brexpiprazole (Rexulti) is used along with other medications to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) or depression. It is also used to treat schizophrenia and agitation due to dementia in people with Alzheimer's disease.
Does brexpiprazole (Rexulti) cause weight gain or loss?
Yes, taking brexpiprazole may cause weight gain—in studies of the medication, this was a common side effect. Brexpiprazole may also cause reduced appetite, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, which can cause some weight loss if they are serious. If you're concerned about weight gain or loss with brexpiprazole treatment, talk with your provider. They can give you more information about the likelihood of weight changes with the medication.
How long does it take for brexpiprazole (Rexulti) to start working?
